Concealed Power: Scenes

I wanted to share some visual images of what I think some of the places from the first book look like. Please keep in mind I do not own the rights to any of these images.

So here we go:
Let’s start with Borrelia, Adenine’s home town:

Let’s have a look inside Adenine’s attic bedroom:

Klawdia, although she typically wears pants.

The Borrelian mountains. The Senyan landscape is very much like Canada. If there’s green showing, then it’s definitely summer or spring.

That’s all for now. I’ll do a part 2 soon including Juxon City.

Klawdia and Adenine

As a writer, the pursuit of publishing is a typically solitary endeavour. So we must set ourselves goals and when we achieve these goals we have to make a fuss, because no one else will make the fuss for us. 🙂

My writer milestones:

In June this year, I reached my 1 year publishing anniversary!

I didn’t think anyone would read my books when I began (although I was secretly hoping). I estimated 100 sales in my first year. Well, I sold 1090. In that year I wrote and released five books. My fifth one came out in June and since then my sales are better than ever.

My original goal was six books to publish in my first year. Life outside of writing got in the way a few times and so I had to resign myself with five. Before the end of 2014 I hope to have released two more books. One of which I’m working my butt off on right now.

Today, I received my 50th review of Concealed Power on Amazon and it was 5 stars. This month I had my 20,000th copy of Concealed Power downloaded. That means there are 20,000 people out there who could read the book and then go on to read the rest of my series. That’s an awesome feeling.

In the last three months I’ve sold ten times the amount of books I normally do. These are small milestones compared to other authors out there, but for me they are the world.

But statistics are objective goals. My craft has improved immensely. My grammar and spelling are better than ever. My scenes, chapters, arcs are all tighter and more succinct. When I give advice to other writers I know what I’m talking about. Regardless there’s still so much left to know. Writers are never the best they can be because there’s always something left to improve.

I live for writing. Writing is the way I live. It’s a massive part of who I am. Without it, I would be a lesser person. It’s how I join with the world. It’s how I make a contribution. It’s the first thing I think of when I wake up, and the last thing in my mind when I drift off.

Cogito ergo sum. Except for me it’s. ‘I write, therefore I am’.

I am lucky and blessed to be doing this. There is no other way to express it. So to my readers out there, and I know not many of you will ever read this post. Thank you for your continued support.

Book 4 waffling. :-)

Hey everyone,

I’m currently in the process of updating this website. If you find any pages without content, be assured I’m working to get text and images onto them. Thanks for your patience while I do this.
